THE CADILLAC XT6 VS LINCOLN AVIATOR

Trying to name the best crossover SUV on the market today is like trying to choose the best athlete between Jordan, Ali, and Brady. There're reasons to argue for each of them. Plenty. He's got the speed! Yeah, but the other one's pure legacy and determination. Ok, but what about inherent talent?!? And on, and on...

Now, that's a problem you want to have. Difficulty in choosing the best out of your options. That means you'll never have to settle, and that any choice you'll make, there'll be plenty of reasons to be happy about it. The crossover SUV market is so incredibly competitive, it's basically almost entirely packed with legends. Amazing cars, for amazing prices.

In this article, we'll have the privilege of going into detail about two of them, the Cadillac XT6, and the Lincoln Aviator. Straight from the bat, if I'd have to choose my favorite name out of the two, I'd definitely go with the Aviator. A timeless word that sparked the imagination of our grandfathers, and every generation since, it's just so unbelievably cool to be able to say "Yeah, I got the Aviator". Hearing "Yeah, I got the XT6" is cool in its own right, in a man-to-man-we-like-them-codes-and-numbers cool, and I wouldn't for a second be embarrassed to say. Aviator though... you can't get any cooler than that.

When you see the cars, preference shifts. Again, we're comparing legends with legends here, and the Aviator is appealing in its own right, but the XT6 feels like you've just been handed the keys to Optimus Prime. That raw power you can make out under the proper, subdued, tempered aesthetics, a huge win for Cadillac that managed to create a less menacing, and more laid-back version of the Escalade. In doing so, they made sure to veer right and claim the attention of families, instead of mostly rappers and ego-driven execs.

The vertical strips of LED and the wide, ample grille on the XT6's front cover the spectacular 3.6-liter V6 under the hood that will produce 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. Impressive numbers, but the Aviator, with its 3.0-liter twin0turbo V6 at 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque, takes this one. Good power for both cars, better numbers for the Lincoln.
The interior is absolutely impossible to differentiate in terms of a winner and a loser. Remarkable craftsmanship, high-end materials, ample room, comfortable, lush adjustable seats for the front row, gorgeous and responsive infotainment systems make for impeccable ride quality in both vehicles. A spectacle of manufacturing, and a tribute to the ever more present technology in the car industry, both cars deliver well beyond the already high expectations customers come in with the showroom.

As far as options go, both the XT6 and the Aviator pretty much have everything you could think of available to be fitted on your model. From the latest safety features that make the cars feel as though they're the embodiment of a 1990s fantasy story about the future, with tons of automated safety processes like emergency braking, lane keep assist, and blind spot monitoring, to name just a few, to the latest in connectivity and entertainment.

We went with the XT6 based on its brand's impeccable pedigree, the exceptional exterior aesthetic with its sharp, appealing lines, the feeling of being spoiled you get the moment you enter inside, and the unmistakable ride quality it delivers every time you turn on the engine.
